Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of sequimeducationfoundation.org (the “Site”), operated by Sequim Education Foundation (“SEF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

1) Who We Are and What the Site Does

SEF is a nonprofit organization that supports educational opportunities in our community. The Site provides information about SEF and may allow you to:

  • Make donations

  • Submit sponsorship inquiries or applications

  • Submit grant requests or related materials

  • Apply for scholarships

  • Sign up to volunteer

  • Contact SEF and request information


2) Eligibility and Acceptable Use

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, user accounts, or related systems

  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Site (including introducing malware, scraping, or denial-of-service activity)

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information

  • Use the Site to harass, threaten, defame, or harm others

We may suspend or restrict access to the Site if we believe you have violated these Terms.


3) Donations and Payments (Stripe / “Pay with Link”)

Donations and other payments made through the Site (including sponsorship payments, if offered online) may be processed through third-party payment services, including Stripe and/or “Pay with Link.”

  • Third-party processing: Payment details (such as credit/debit card or bank information) are typically collected directly by the payment provider through their secure checkout experience. SEF does not store full payment card numbers.

  • Additional terms may apply: Your payment is subject to the payment provider’s terms and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.

  • Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when making a donation or payment.

  • Receipts: Donation receipts may be provided electronically when available.

  • Refunds: Donations are generally final. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact SEF using the information in the “Contact Us” section. SEF will review requests case-by-case, consistent with applicable law and payment processor rules.


4) Submissions Through Forms (Grants, Scholarships, Volunteers, Sponsorships)

When you submit information through the Site (including grant requests, scholarship applications, volunteer signups, or sponsorship inquiries), you agree that:

  • The information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge

  • You have the right to provide any information or materials you submit

  • SEF may use the information to evaluate and administer programs and to communicate with you (as described in our Privacy Policy)

Confidentiality note: While SEF treats submissions with care, do not submit sensitive information that is not necessary for your request. SEF cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of information submitted online.


5) Intellectual Property

The Site and its content (text, graphics, logos, design, photos, and other materials) are owned by SEF or used with permission and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may:

  • View, download, and print pages from the Site for personal, noncommercial use related to learning about SEF or participating in SEF programs

You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit Site content without SEF’s prior written permission, except where allowed by law


6) Links to Third-Party Sites

The Site may link to third-party websites or services (including payment pages). SEF does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Access third-party sites at your own risk.


7) Disclaimers

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • SEF makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the Site

  • SEF does not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components

  • Information on the Site is for general informational purposes and may change without notice


8) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SEF and its directors, officers, volunteers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site.

If liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, SEF’s total liability for any claim related to the Site will be limited to the amount you paid to SEF through the Site in the twelve (12) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.


9) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SEF and its directors, officers, volunteers, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your misuse of the Site

  • Your submissions through the Site


10) Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information.


11) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective date.” Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.


12) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
